And the Angels Sang...

As per my Christmas Wish List, I recieved a food processor. But I don't really know what to do with it. I haven't taken the time to read the manual yet, but I'm imagining it will be helpful during gardening season. I also see that there is a dough blade, so the labor of bread-making will be eased.

Congratulate me, friends, and tell me your favorite uses for your food processor.

  1. You are, indeed, to be congratulated!

Homemade mayo is the work of a moment with your f.p.
Shredding cabbage for coleslaw or sauerkraut.
Actually, mincing, shredding, chopping just about any veg. you can imagine...
No more bleeding knuckles as you shred cheese on the blasted box grater.

  2. oh, lucky you!!! I am in love with my Cuisinart :)
But I haven't used it to knead bread.

    make nutella
chop any vegetables - especially great for making salsa
    make mayo
    hummus

I don't use it for cheese - I have this idea that the cheese will be too soft. I don't use the shredding attachments so much, just the straight blade.

  3. Tut, tut, Margo! Cheese is certainly not too soft to shred. You get a little ring of smeared cheese inside the rim of the shredding blade but that just means you get to dig it out with your finger and eat it. No problem.

  4. I use mine for making pesto and for grating up zucchini to freeze or make bread on the spot. I love mine, and don't know what I'd do without it for those things.

I write my posts imagining that I am already in the middle of a conversation with you. I hope you will comment and be a part of the conversation.
